A husband and wife downsized to the beach and found a home with an inefficient plan and little architectural character. The remodel added timeless craft through upgraded materials and detailing, including reworked eaves, brick veneer with soldier and rowlock coursing, and copper gutters and downspouts, while opening the kitchen and adding built-ins around the living room fireplace. Entertaining now extends to a billiards room and bar that opens to a fireplace patio, plus a new spa area and a cabana with pass-through counter seating at the rear.
