In collaboration with Schroeder Development and Design based out of East Village Manhattan, the Abraham's Landing Residence seeks to provide a comfortable modern vacation home located a short distance from Napeague Bay in the Hamptons. The Owner's requirement for a tranquil retreat with clean detailing was met with a long slender two story form featuring two gabled ends sliced and offset at the center to allow for a centralized entry atrium protected visually from the avenue. The atrium features double height ceilings with floor to ceiling glazing for bright natural daylight and a visual connection to the landscape. A stacked stair constructed of steel and wood connects the atrium with the basement and second level. There are three bedrooms on the second level accessed by way of a hallway gallery where the owners' art collection is on display.  The master bedroom opens onto an expansive deck with views over the adjacent fairway and distant bay.  A great room on the first level features an open kitchen with large island/bar for entertaining and a modern hearth integrated into low built-in casework doubling as informal seating.  Sliding doors open onto the backyard lawn which provides a play-space buffer between the house and the lap pool and pool house.
